Recently my homegirl Antonia Carter celebrated the release of her highly anticipated book “Priceless Inspirations” by having a book signing at a local ATL Barnes & Nobles in College Park. Toya felt a strong urge to put a book out about her past life’s struggles in hopes that it will be the testimony to aid and guide young teens going through the same or similar obstacles she faced growing up as a motherless child.
In Priceless Inspirations, Antonia “Toya” Carter takes the reader through the pain of being a teenage mother struggling to raise a child while still a child herself, without the benefit of the guidance of her own mother. The book includes a foreword by Toya’s ex-husband, multi-Grammy(R) Award-winner Lil’ Wayne. Using the words she recorded in the journals she kept as a teenager and the wisdom she has gained in the years. Toya offers these young women real and heartfelt understanding and advice about sex, relationships, motherhood and growing up.
In my opinion this is the most adept and ultimate way that Toya can give back to her fans and community so many of our young girls out here without the proper guidance and role models. The next best thing is for our next generation to pick up a book and stroll down Toya’s memory lane to learn how she survived and made something of herself despite her circumstances. Toya’s camp told me that the book is almost on the NY Best Sellers list so make sure you all go out and support the homie and buy her book.
