All My Children, As The World Turns & Days Of Our Lives could not have written a more scandalous episode than what's going on in the REAL life of the Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Recently we all heard Mr Schwarzenegger & his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver seperated but no one knew why the sudden split... Yesterday Arnold confirmed to the L.A. Times that he had a secret child with his longtime family housekeeper, he had her on the pay role for 20 years at the house with his wife and the wife had no clue... all of this was going on while he was Governor of California, and to make matters worse, the maid was married and up until yesterday she was telling everyone including her ex-husband that the child was his.
When it comes to political figures not much surprises me but this actually did. I feel bad for Arnold's wife... i can only imagine how she must feel... it's one thing to cheat, in certain situations that can be forgiven, but to cheat and have a secret baby for 10 YEARS right up under your wifes nose with the trusted housekeeper while you are Governor is unimaginable.
Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, separated after she learned he had fathered a child more than a decade ago — before his first run for office — with a longtime member of their household staff.
Shriver moved out of the family’s Brentwood mansion earlier this year, after Schwarzenegger acknowledged the paternity. The staff member worked for the family for 20 years, retiring in January.
“After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago,” Schwarzenegger said Monday night in a statement issued to The Times in response to questions. “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.
“I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time,” the statement concluded. “While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not.”
