Chris Brown has been forced to cancel his show in Perth, Australia this evening (Tues 3 May) after suffering from a severe viral illness.The Beautiful People singer, who is currently Down Under promoting his new album F.A.M.E., has been taken ill after complaining that he felt sick at the end of last week.
A spokesperson for Brown confirmed the 21-year old star had contracted a severe flu and bacterial infection, claiming in a statement: "Fans of Chris Brown will already be aware that he is unwell due to his recent postings on his Twitter page.”
He continued: “At his concert in Brisbane on Friday night Chris told the audience he was feeling unwell but still managed to put on an amazing show despite his illness which has now escalated.”
Breezy had hoped to still perform at Burswood Dome in Perth, tweeting on Sunday: "I haven't been sick like this in a while!!!! F..k it though! I'm still doing the show in Perth!"
However, his doctor, Bill Anseline, has since announced the Yeah 3x hitmaker is in no fit state to take to the stage, explaining: "Chris has a severe viral illness. The virus has developed into a nasty chest infection and he needs rest."
He added: "He is not fit to perform on stage nor is he fit to travel. He was devastated and wanted to push and go for it, but for Chris’ health and wellbeing I recommended that he didn’t take any risks to avoid ongoing complications.”
Fans who had hoped to see Brown perform in Perth have been offered a full refund.
Meanwhile in other Chris Brown news, the star has unveiled the promo for his new single, She Ain't You, paying tribute to his idol Michael Jackson in the clip.
The song, which samples the King of Pop's track Human Nature, sees Chris portraying some of MJ's signature moves in the video, with Brown stating that the tune is "dedicated to my biggest inspiration of all time."
