Faith Evans has filed for divorce ... TMZ has learned ... but it was a long time coming.
Faith -- who is married to record company exec Todd Russaw -- filed legal docs in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. Todd is also Faith's manager.
The couple married in 1997 and has two minor children. But according to the divorce petition, the couple separated in December, 2005. The 2005 date is curious, because one of their children was born in 2007.
Faith is asking for joint legal and sole physical custody. She wants Todd to have visitation rights.
Faith also wants the judge to reject any claim of spousal support.

Macho Man Randy Savage Dies In Car Accident
Macho Man Randy Savage -- one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time -- died today in a car accident in Seminole, Florida ... TMZ has learned.
TMZ spoke with Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM ... and lost control of his vehicle.
Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.
Savage was 58.
Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase "Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh." Savage was so popular, he became the spokesperson for Slim Jim in the mid '90s ... and became virtually synonymous with the brand.
UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ ... Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic ... and "collided head-on with a tree."
Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.
Savage's wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision -- but survived with "minor injuries." She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.
According to officials, Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Cops say alcohol was NOT a factor.
An investigation into the accident is underway.

The Rosenthals Presents The Check-In w/ Swizz Beatz

Nicki Minaj Surprises Students as "Principal For A Day"
Minaj presented three exemplary students each with $10,000 college scholarships from Comcast, helped teach a freshman English class, and joined MTV's Sway Calloway in an all-school assembly to celebrate the students' and teachers' accomplishments. Students saw the performer's serious side as she took over the class and led a lesson in English. Minaj's own education, she's a graduate of LaGuardia High School in New York City, influenced not just her career path but also her commitment to giving back.
Nicki Minaj said, "I am a young, female mogul before I am an artist. As a business woman there isn't a single day where I don't use my education or acquire new knowledge to ensure my success. Regardless of where you are today, with education you can take yourself where you want to be. That's why I am working with the Get Schooled Foundation. They are finding innovative and exciting ways to bring that message to schools like the Collins Academy."
Studies show that rate of attendance is one of the most significant predictors of dropping out. Students with more than 20 absences in any given year have only a 19 percent likelihood of graduating. According to the 2010 Diploma Counts report, only 55 percent of Chicago students graduate from high school on time. Throughout the six week competition, students and teachers at Collins Academy worked together and improved daily attendance by 7 percent. Since the competition ended, Collins Academy has maintained a 92 percent attendance rate, positioning the school among the top of all Chicago's high schools in terms of attendance.
"Collins Academy students and staff put everything into this attendance challenge," said Collins Academy Principal Andre Cowling. "We tell students that they own their future and that education is their pathway to success. Winning this challenge is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students and staff – and that work continues every day."
The three Collins Academy students who each received $10,000 college scholarships are Amanda Chaney, Rachael Pillot, and Japone Johnson.
In recognizing these students, Comcast Vice President of Community Investment for Comcast Corporation and Executive Vice President of the Comcast Foundation Charisse R. Lillie said, "Comcast seeks to support organizations that inspire young people to lead, and the Get MotivatED Challenge encourages them to do just that. We are thrilled to present these scholarships to these outstanding students at Collins Academy and bring them one step closer to achieving their educational goals."
"The Get MotivatED Challenge proved that with focus, support and incentives, schools can increase student engagement and high school attendance rates," said Marie Groark, Executive Director of the Get Schooled Foundation. "Collins Academy staff and students demonstrated tremendous commitment to changing their data and the 7 percent attendance gain is a testament to their hard work."
In addition to the $30,000 scholarships from Comcast to the three Collins Academy students, twelve students at four other competing schools including Burke HS (Boston), Lincoln HS (Philadelphia), McGavock HS (Nashville) and Orr Academy HS (Chicago) are each receiving $1,000 scholarships from Comcast as a reward for their leadership and for going above and beyond to motivate their peers throughout the competition.
Schools that actively participated in the Challenge saw an average increase in attendance of 2.01 percent. As a whole, the Challenge motivated an additional 90 students to come to school – students who otherwise might not have found the motivation.
During the national competition, students in participating schools recognized teachers as one of the most important motivators, submitting 3000 nominations for more than 550 inspiring teachers. Jay-Z Performs At Roseland Ballroom
Jay-Z held his first New York concert this year at the Roseland Ballroom last night. The gig was part of Upfront Week for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. In the house were DJ Khaled, Fabolous, Swizz Beatz, and Pharrell.
Hov switched up the set list and even performed “Intro” and “Thank You” (see above) over The Boondocks theme song. Under the cut, he segues “Allure” into “Dead Presidents”. Below that, he brings out Swizzy for “On To The Next One”.

Police: Texas Chainsaw Killer Arrested
HOUSTON -- Police have made an arrest in the gruesome murder of a man who was beheaded and dismembered with a chainsaw.
Noe Morin, 32, was arrested and charged with the murder of his roommate, 35-year-old Marlon Thomas.
Police say they found Thomas' head and one of his arms in a trash bag inside a vacant house next door to the home shared by the 2 men.
The rest of the body, with a partially severed arm, was found in the backyard.
A chainsaw was found in a crawl space under the victim's home.

Rakim Likes The Simple Life
Rakim is known as the Godfather of rap and the legendary 43 year old rapper from Long Island New York just admitted in an interview that he lives on a budget.
Here’s what Rakim said in an interview with the U.K. Guardian:
“My accountant has me on an allowance. He works out how much money is coming in, how much we have already and he makes it pay over the year. So some weeks we might have 1500, some we might only have 500, but my family understands all that. I’m not a mainstream artist. The Wire" Actress Pleads Innocence In DEA Raid Arrest
Sticking to her story, Pearson pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday (May 16).
In March, The Wire's Felicia 'Snoop' Pearson was arrested as part of a large DEA raid targeting a heroin and marijuana operation centered in Baltimore. (At the time, David Simon had this very David Simon-y thing to say: "Both our Constitution and our common law guarantee that we will be judged by our peers. But in truth, there are now two Americas, politically and economically distinct. I, for one, do not qualify as a peer to Felicia Pearson.") Snoop has now been arraigned on the charges, and she's plead not guilty; she says she'll address the situation "as soon as the case is over with." (New York Mag)Following her March arrest, Pearson's representative Soulgee McQueen issued a statement speaking on the actress' behalf.
"Felicia Pearson has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. In Felicia's case, she feels that she is being targeted not only because of her portrayal of the memorable character "Snoop" On HBO's critically acclaimed series THE WIRE; but also because of where she is from in Baltimore. Felicia grew up where high crime rates, drug use and violence are the norm. Felicia has overcome numerous hard ships in her lifetime. She does not expect these hardships to be used as an excuse for illegal activities." (Statement)McQueen also pointed out the positive contributions Snoop has made despite the negative publicity she received in light of the publicized arrest.

An actress who appeared on the HBO series "The Wire" is being held without bail on charges of conspiring to sell heroin. A Baltimore Circuit Court judge denied bail Friday for 30-year-old Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, who played a killer of the same name on the hit television series. Pearson is one of 64 people charged in a joint state-federal prosecution of a large east Baltimore drug gang dubbed "Operation Usual Suspects." (Associated Press)
Yelawolf Debuts 'Gangster of Love' Featuring CyHi Da Prynce
Gary Miller, FilmMagicIn a three-way recording studio interview with Texas rap hero Chamillionaire and G.O.O.D. Music artist CyHi Da Prynce, Yela announced that his lead single will be titled 'Gangster of Love,' and will feature a guest appearance by CyHi, who previously appeared on his 'I Wish (Remix).'
"My three little things today are rapping, skateboarding and Jack Daniels," Yela told 3 Little Digs, with a smile, before breaking the news. "I let CyHi come in and partake in [my first single], it's called 'Gangster of Love.' This is my first official, for real for real, single single s---."
While the Gadsden, Ala. native continues to churn out guest appearances, freestyles and other blog fodder, he has been quiet regarding the features on his debut album, though he did recently reveal that Eminem will be contributing some production work to the project.
"He was just excited man, which made me even more excited about it," Yela said in an interview with ImFlashy. "So we set up some time to work for Marshall to get in and do some production on it and do some arrangements, of course, for music. Kind of to coach the album. I get besides myself thinking, really thinking of having him to really go to for advice on how to structure records and just whatever possible. Just using the genius. He's psyched."
Yelawolf continued to say that the features and concepts will give his album a more universal appeal, calling his 'Radioactive' debut "patriotic."
"'Radioactive' exemplifies my inspirations, rather than just putting out music that's just regional and more influenced with what's going on in my corner," he explained. "It's more influenced with what's going on in the world. It's patriotic, in a sense. I'm really taking on America's problems and issues, good and bad, on some records, and bringing in influences from early childhood to now and not just sticking to one formula but actually bringing in features and to just broaden the sound. Concepts I've been waiting to put out for years. I'm excited, man."
'Radioactive' is intended for a summer release, and features confirmed production by 'Lollipop' beatsmith Jim Jonsin, alongside Eminem and the aforementioned appearance by CyHi Da Prynce.
Jay-Z, Taylor Swift Named in D.C. Investigation on Police Escorts

The investigation was initiated after Sheen received a high-speed police escort in April, following a performance at D.C.'s DAR Constitution Hall. The honor -- only allowed for the president, vice-president or those who require "extra-ordinary protective measures," according to D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier -- prompted Sheen to tweet a photo of the police cars and 80mph speedometer with the message: "In car with Police escort in front and rear! Driving like someone's about to deliver a baby! Cop car lights (hash)Spinning!" His promoter later reimbursed the city for $445.68.

A United Fight For Press & Charity
A few stars (said with pure generosity) showed up at The 3rd Annual Art Auction for Bronx Charter School For The Arts yesterday. Guests included Tika Sumpter (Gossip Girl, The Game), Renee Graziano (VH1 trash), Pilar Sanders (fancy VH1 trash), Shontelle (Rihanna’s understudy), and Estelle (where’s your album?).The mob wife in this photo throws me off a bit, but the event was for a good cause,so I guess I should shut up. Swizz Beaks was also there auctioning off his art and performing. I was going to post additional pictures, but girl…what’s the point?
