Chrysler Group LLC had its first profitable quarter since it filed for bankruptcy in 2009 thanks in part to Eminem and the car campaign "imported from Detroit." In 2010 the company suffered a 197 million dollar net loss, they're bouncing back this year increasing it's net revenues 35 percent this quarter. Chrysler CFO, Richard Palmer says "It clearly had a fairly big impact also on market levels with (the) Eminem Super Bowl ad being extremely well-viewed on YouTube... And introducing the tag line ‘Imported from Detroit.’”
The Youtube video has hit 10.5 million hits equalling 1,000 cars sold to every 1 million views. Of this growing success, Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne says "I think it’s fair to say that we are certainly - internally - very pleased with the results Chrysler has been able to achieve in the first quarter of this year." It seems that the Chrysler group has found it's secret to success, their upcoming campaigns will feature Dr. Dre, Detroit Lions’ Ndamakong Suh and designer John Varvatos.
